CIRCULAR: 59-09 Ref: Attention: All AFULE Members in the Everton Electorate
14 October 2009
Dear Traincrew,
14 October 2009
Dear Traincrew
ATTENTION: ALL AFULE MEMBERS IN THE EVERTON ELECTORATE
As you are aware, the State Government has proposed to sell off Queensland public assets inclusive of Queensland Rail, Ports, Forests and Motorways.
The AFULE, ETU and APESMA have formed an alliance to fight the sale of Queensland public assets. We have put up billboards opposing the privatisation of Queensland owned assets around the State and will be also be implementing other strategies in the near future.
Your local MP, Murray Watt has recently letterboxed his electorate seeking feedback from voters on their top 11 issues. The Unions have added an extra box “Stop the privatisation of Queensland Government Assets.” We urge all members in Everton to fill out the attached survey and make that box #1. Or complete the survey online go to www.murraywattmp.com
Further, Murray has invited constituents to attend his mobile offices this Saturday 17 October 2009. It is the AFULE’s intention to attend the mobile offices to peacefully protest against his support of the Government’s decision on asset sales.
If you are available to attend one or all of these to show your support, it would be greatly appreciated. We are endeavouring to organise a sausage sizzle at each venue during the day.
If you have any queries in relation to this matter, please don’t hesitate to contact the AFULE State Office on (07) 3257 1151 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Yours fraternally
GREG SMITH
STATE SECRETARY
